Full answer

Apple’s USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable (2 m) is the magnetic Mac-side latch for modern MacBook Air and 14-/16-inch MacBook Pro. The cable does not set wattage — the USB-C power adapter does. Shop the cable when you lost MagSafe 3; shop the brick wattage when you need charge speed.

What Apple sells

What Apple sells

Apple’s shop listing for the USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable (2 m) — Silver, part MW613AM/A (accessed 23 Sep 2026), describes a 2-meter charge cable with a magnetic MagSafe 3 connector. Pair it with a compatible USB-C power adapter (sold separately). The magnetic connection is strong enough to resist most unintended disconnects but releases if someone trips on the cable. An LED turns amber while charging and green when full. Woven design. MagSafe 3 on the Mac side; USB-C toward the brick.

Apple Support fast-charge testing (102378) refers to the same MagSafe 3 cable family as model A2363. That is the cable, not the adapter wattage.

The cable does not set wattage

The cable does not set wattage

MagSafe 3 is the Mac-side connector. Charge speed follows the USB-C power adapter’s wattage (and what the laptop will negotiate). Apple’s recommended pairs (109509 / 102378, accessed 23 Sep 2026):

  • MacBook Air 2022+ 30W (13″ only), 35W Dual, 67W, or 70W USB-C + MagSafe 3; fast-charge lists also 96W / 140W Shop nearby 30W, 65W (near Apple 67W/70W), 100W, 140W
  • 14″ MacBook Pro 2021+ 67W / 70W / 96W USB-C + MagSafe 3; fast charge with 96W or 140W Shop MacBook Pro 14, 100W, 140W
  • 16″ MacBook Pro 2021+ 140W USB-C + MagSafe 3 for Apple’s recommended / fast-charge class Shop MacBook Pro 16 140W, 140W

A MagSafe 3 cable with a 30W brick will not magically deliver 140W. Match the adapter to the laptop class you want, then reuse the MagSafe 3 cable.

MagSafe 3 vs MagSafe 1/2 vs USB-C charge cable

MagSafe 3 vs MagSafe 1/2 vs USB-C charge cable

  • MagSafe 3 Current MacBook Air (2022+) and 14-/16-inch Pro (2021+). USB-C toward the wall adapter; magnetic MagSafe 3 on the Mac. Not compatible with Older MagSafe / MagSafe 2 ports. Apple’s MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter is for MagSafe 2 machines — not MagSafe 3 (109509).
  • MagSafe 1 / MagSafe 2 Older MacBook / MacBook Pro / Air with L-shaped or MagSafe 2 magnetic tips and dedicated MagSafe power adapters (not USB-C bricks). Skip Do not order MagSafe 3 for those ports — wrong generation.
  • USB-C charge cable (plain C-to-C) Plugs into the Mac’s Thunderbolt / USB-C port. No magnetic latch. For 100W+ PD you need a 5A e-marked / 240W-labeled cable. Guide 100W e-marked USB-C cable — Apple 240W USB-C Charge Cable (MYQT3AM/A) is the high-watt C-to-C option, not MagSafe 3.
