100W USB-C PD / GaN charger

A 100W USB-C Power Delivery charger is the 20V / 5A class: headroom above 65W, useful when you charge a 14″ Pro-class laptop, keep a second device on the same brick, or want one adapter for mixed laptops. It is not Apple’s 140W 16″ Pro adapter.

USB-C PD 3.0 tops out at 100W (20V × 5A). That contract needs an e-marked 5A cable. A 60W-labeled USB-C cable will cap you. See how to pick.

Who it fits

From manufacturer tables (prices re-checked 4 Sep 2026; wattage sources accessed 3 Sep 2026):

• Laptop 14-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later) Adapter 67W, 70W, or 96W USB-C; fast charge with 96W+ (Apple 102378) Why At or above 67W/70W. Covers Apple’s 96W fast-charge class. Apple also lists 140W as a fast-charge source for this size.
• Laptop MacBook Air (2022 or later), including M2 Adapter 30W / 35W included; 67W / 70W recommended options; fast charge 67W (13.6″) or 70W+ Why Well above the included adapter. Apple documents higher-watt USB-C PD as usable.
• Laptop 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later) Adapter 140W USB-C recommended; fast charge listed with 140W Why Below Apple’s 140W recommendation. Apple still allows a lower-watt USB-C PD adapter; expect slower charge / possible Slow Charger. Prefer 140W for that machine.

Anker Prime 100W (A2688) lists 100W on each USB-C port when used alone, 100W combined on two ports, 89W combined on three. Laptop on the top USB-C, per Anker’s note. UGREEN Nexode 100W (SKU 40737) publishes 100W max total; USB-C1/C2 up to 20V/5A on the bundle spec sheet.

Cable: e-marked 5A / 100W+

Do not reuse a 60W (3A) USB-C cable and expect 100W. USB-IF labels certified C-to-C cables 60W or 240W. Anker: “For optimal 100W charging, use an E-Marker cable.” Apple sells a 2 m USB-C charge cable rated up to 240W ($29.00 on apple.com, 4 Sep 2026) — that is a cable, not a charger.
