iPhone 18 Pro charger: what to buy for fast charging
To fast charge iPhone 18 Pro or 18 Pro Max to about 50% in 15 minutes, Apple says to use a 60W-capable USB-C adapter with Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) — such as Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max — and the USB-C cable in the box. No adapter is included. A 35W-or-higher charger handles MagSafe fast charging.

Full answer
Apple’s tech specs for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max say: fast-charge capable, up to 50% charge in around 15 minutes when using a 60W-capable adapter or higher with Adjustable Voltage Supply (available separately) paired with a USB‑C charging cable, or up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 35W adapter or higher paired with a MagSafe Charger. Apple’s “Fast charge your iPhone” page names two options for the wired figure: the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max, or a comparable third-party 60W-capable (or greater) adapter that uses AVS and supports USB Power Delivery 3.2.
That is a stricter rule than iPhone 17 (40W adapter or higher). A plain 45W, 65W or 100W USB-C PD charger still charges iPhone 18 Pro — Apple encourages “any compatible USB‑C power adapter” — but we only sell a charger as the 15-minute answer when its maker documents AVS. Tonight that is Apple’s own adapter; none of the third-party chargers we track list AVS on their maker pages, so they are listed for MagSafe and everyday charging only.

Apple tested iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max fast charge in July 2026 with the USB-C Charge Cable or MagSafe Chargers (Models A3502 / A3503), both with the Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (Model A3351). Apple’s spec-page footnote says wired fast charge is supported with a 60W-capable USB-C cable and USB PD 3.1 (or better) adapters with AVS; the support article says USB-PD 3.2 with AVS.
What’s in the box (no charger)
What’s in the iPhone 18 Pro box
Apple lists the iPhone and a USB‑C Charge Cable (1 m). In Apple’s words, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max “do not include a power adapter or EarPods. Included in the box is a USB‑C Charge Cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB‑C power adapters and computer ports.” So you buy the wall charger separately and use the cable you already have.
Fast charge: why AVS matters
Fast charge on iPhone 18 Pro
Apple’s 50%-in-about-15-minutes figure comes from tests with the USB‑C Charge Cable and Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (Model A3351). Apple’s footnote: “Wired fast charge supported with 60W-capable USB‑C cable and USB PD 3.1 (or better) power adapters with Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS).” Apple’s product page for that adapter says it dynamically delivers up to 60W and features AVS, and lists iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max (about 50% in around 15 minutes). If your charger’s maker doesn’t say it supports AVS, don’t expect the 15-minute figure, even at 65W or 100W.
Apple notes charge time varies with adapter, settings, usage and environmental factors, and fast charging might not work when it’s too cold or too hot.
MagSafe and wireless charging
MagSafe on iPhone 18 Pro
iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max support MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. For wireless fast charging (about 50% in 30 minutes), Apple says to use a MagSafe Charger and a 35W or higher adapter; Apple tested with MagSafe Chargers (1 m Model A3502, 2 m Model A3503) on its 40W Dynamic Power Adapter. Every charger above is 45W or more, so each works for that. The MagSafe Charger itself is sold separately; we don’t list a price for it here yet.
Which cable
The right cable
Use a USB‑C to USB‑C cable. Apple says to fast charge with “the USB‑C cable that came in the box”, and its footnote calls for a 60W-capable USB‑C cable. If you want a longer spare, Apple’s 240W 2 m cable above supports charging up to 240W. Lightning cables don’t fit.
Data note: the USB‑C port supports USB 3 (up to 10Gb/s) with a USB 3 cable and DisplayPort output. This doesn’t affect charging speed.
